worldsteel participates in Tata Steel India’s first Construction Conclave
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) actively participated in Tata Steel India’s first Construction Conclave held in Dubai, UAE on 22 March 2018. The Conclave brought together experts from across the global construction industry who shared their experiences of innovative construction practices and their potential impact on shaping the construction industry in India.
The construction and infrastructure industry in India is poised to register significant growth over the next 5 to 10 years. It is therefore important that the Indian steel industry engage early with all stakeholders and customers to shape the future of the construction industry and that steel plays a dominant role in this growth.
During its presentation, worldsteel discussed the global movement gathering among its steel producing members to give more attention to the promotion of steel in construction. worldsteel proposed the establishment of a mechanism for the transfer of best practices from countries who have successfully promoted the use of steel in construction to the Indian market. At the same time, worldsteel argued that the time is right for the Indian steel industry to collectively join forces and to reach out to customers and partners who are also driven by the common goal of increasing the use of steel in construction.
