Issue and/or innovation

Speed was of the utmost importance in this project, due to the short duration of the summer season and the need to have an operational cableway system by the opening of the ski resort in early fall.
Also, due to the distance from any major city speed was also important to minimize the transfer costs for the workers as well as the importance of fully-prefabricated systems to compensate for the lack of construction materials in the proximity of the building site.

Reason for composite solution

Pre-fabricated columns and beams produced by the company Tecnostrutture have been used to speed up construction together with other prefabricated solution such as prefabricated hollow concrete walls, pre-dalles floor systems and pre-fabricated stairs.

Specific solution/technical details

Pre-fabricated hollow tube composite columns were used for the vertical elements inside the floorplan of the parking garage, while the perimetral walls ¬were created by using sandwich panels formed by two layers of concrete that act as formwork to carry the pour of concrete done on-site. Beams are formed by pre-fabricated composite beams (NPS) formed by a steel trellis and a reinforcement plate that works both as formwork and structural element before the concrete is poured on site. Pre-dalles floor are laid before the concrete is poured.

Impact or effectiveness

The whole contract, from tendering, negotiation, production, delivery and on-site installation lasted from June 10, 2022 to the end of September, slightly over 3 months. The ease and speed of construction allowed the use of minimum workforce.
