Construction date: 2012-2016
Number of stories: 40
Gross floor area: 92,816m2
Adopted design code: Eurocode; BS5950 Part 5 :2005; BS 5400 -5:2005
Engineer(s): RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Pte) Ltd
Contractor(s): Takenaka Corporation

Issue and/or innovation

Design needs to comply with minimum headroom requirements, landscaping, loading, void and ventilation openings.

Reason for composite solution

To achieve efficient construction speed and better quality control.

Specific solution/technical details

Concrete encased steel sections:
For Beam (lvl 14 & lvl 26): S355 steel & C50 concrete
For Column (up to lvl 12): S355 steel & C60 concrete

Impact or effectiveness

Adoption of composite slab system minimized the use of temporary prop and formwork, which improved the construction efficiency and reduced the carbon footprint of construction. Minimized building weight to improves structural performance.
